Laptop buying: purchasing design

I am still looking for a laptop, and I have been frustrated with the design of most of the shopping websites at the major retailers. I don't really care which model notebook I get. I have requirements in mind and want to shop against those.

I just surfed over to the IBM website and discovered their Notebook Finder. It has exactly what I want: you select features and the website narrows the availability for you. For a notebook, they give you filters on Processor, OS, Memory, Hard drive, Weight, Battery life, Display size, Price, Availability and Wireless. Too bad one of the options isn't "style." Oh, they don't want to send you off to another site.
